FARMER’S MARKETS IN OAKVILLE
Oakville’s Farmers Markets support Ontario workers when we buy their local goods. Starting as early as May and wrapping up in November, these markets sells everything from produce, meat, flowers, baked goods, to handcrafted items and much more.
It’s important to know that buying local is a Green decision! Food that doesn’t have to travel far means you’re not using up energy and resources for transportation. Plus you’re not using up any packaging or preservatives which is great for you and the environment.
It’s also a great place to bring the kids. They can chat and learn from the vendors, some will even let the kids have a free taste test. They’ll be amazed with all the handcrafted items and delicious things to try. As a parent, you’ll be leading an example for them, showing how we can support Ontario workers and lower our carbon footprint.
